CADC Endorsements for
2024 Primary Election
The City of Alameda Democratic Club (CADC), the only Democratic Party chartered club in Alameda, California is proud to announce its endorsements for the 2024 Primary Election taking place for California Democrats on Tuesday, March 5th. Following a series of meetings with candidates, ballot measure campaign presentations, and member discussions, CADC members have voted to endorse the following:
Barbara Lee
U.S. Senate
“Barbara Lee has a strong record representing us in the U.S. Congress,” said 2024 CADC President Meredith Hoskin. “What a great opportunity for us to send our local representative to the U.S. Senate. She has the right expertise on the issues facing the Bay Area and will help bring resources and needed change as our U.S. Senator for the state of California.”
Lateefah Simon
U.S. Congress, District 12
“Lateefah’s answers and understanding of the issues facing the East Bay were exactly why she earned the Club’s endorsement,” stated CADC Vice President for Activities Zac Bowling. “We are confident that she will represent us well in Washington, DC. Lateefah has a long resume of making change, from her dedication to justice reform to women’s rights as well as understanding how addressing infrastructure and climate change are integral to the future of the East Bay.”
Pamela Price
District Attorney, Alameda County
“The Alameda County voters made a choice in 2022 and chose Pamela Price as their District Attorney, the first African American woman to the role. The City of Alameda Democratic Club feels a continued commitment to DA Price’s vision of reforming the justice system, has concerns about the financial investment and practice of overturning the voters’ choice so soon after DA Price started her term, and recognizes the importance of public safety in our community and the many factors that contribute to it. For these reasons and more, CADC urges Alamedans to vote 'no' on the recall this November."
Yes on Measure E

"Alameda schools are a central part of our community. The City of Alameda Democratic Club has voted to endorse Yes on Measure E as it will continue essential funding for school programs and teacher salaries, and will not increase our taxes. We urge all Democrats across Alameda to vote in the upcoming Election on March 5th to ensure we pass this important ballot measure for our local schools,” declared Hoskin.
While the CADC hosted an endorsement meeting with the candidates for California State Senate, District 7, no candidate met the 55 percent of votes from our members to earn the endorsement. During the candidate forums for U.S. Congress and State Senate, CADC asked questions on important topics and issues relevant to Alameda, including public safety, housing, climate change, budget, and in one instance, the best brunch spot in the East Bay. For U.S. Senate, we hosted a roundtable discussion among members evaluating the leading candidates in the race and the reasons to vote for them.
In addition to candidate races and ballot measures at the state and county level, Alamedans will vote on a city-specific ballot measure, Measure E, that will renew important funding for Alameda Unified School District.
When voting, Alameda Democrats can also reference the endorsements from the Alameda County Democratic Party, including Alameda County Judge races and ballot measures that will be on the March Primary ballot.
Local Democrats will also have the opportunity to select their representatives in the Alameda County Democratic Central Committee, the local governing body of and voice to the Democratic Party. Five Alamedans are running, including Zac Bowling, Stewart Chen, Hannah Groce, Alameda Councilmember Tracy Jensen, and Austin Tam, for one of the ten spots on the committee for Assembly District 18. CADC has not endorsed candidates running in this race.
